Cissy Houston, a Grammy Award-winning artist and the mom of Whitney Houston, handed away in New Jersey on Monday (October 7). Cissy’s daughter-in-law Pat Houston introduced the singer died whereas in hospice take care of Alzheimer’s illness.

Cissy suffered two tragic losses over the previous 15 years. Her daughter Whitney handed away in 2012. Cissy’s granddaughter Bobby Kristina, Whitney’s solely little one, died in 2015.
The 2-time Grammy winner sang backup for a number of music legends throughout her storied profession. She labored together with her niece Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield and David Bowie, amongst others.
Cissy gained her first Grammy in 1997 and her second in 1999. Each awards had been within the Finest Conventional Soul Gospel Album class.
