The show, which the playwright originally performed herself, is done now by Cloteal L. Horne, who brings a youthful energy and an ear for dialects and verbal tics to the dozens of characters brought to life in this expansive tale of community, religion, culture, anger, violence, retribution and, it is hoped, redemption and rebuilding.
