Pelican is about to launch their first new music since 2019 this Friday. Pelican‘s new EP Adrift / Tending The Embers options two new songs “Adrift” and “Tending the Embers”, and is on the market for pre-order proper right here on Bandcamp alongside an unique shirt.
“Adrift / Tending The Embers marks Pelican‘s first new music since 2019 and the primary songs written with the band’s authentic lineup since 2012. The EP marks each a reunion and a departure, eschewing the caustic bombast of 2019’s Nighttime Tales for extra delicate and nuanced territory that imbibes their pastoral Midwest post-rock tendencies with triumphant riffs that really feel indebted to the basic Dischord pantheon.
“Since reuniting with founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec in 2022, Pelican have been taking part in career-spanning reside units in assist of Thrill Jockey’s expanded reissues of the group’s first three albums. Energized by the preliminary run of exhibits and the invite to document a pair of canopy songs for Numero Group’s twenty fifth anniversary, the band started writing once more in early 2023.
“As the excess of fabric started to amass and it grew to become clear there was greater than album’s price of fabric taking form, the band booked studio time with longtime collaborator Sanford Parker so as to share the burgeoning new course with followers before later. The ensuing two track EP is on the market digitally from all DSPs and as a restricted version tape solely right here.”
