Meek Mill has been type low recently. Not a lot of social media action after helping make Clubhouse one of the hottest social platforms around. Even though he is in the cut, he’s still building up the Dream Chasers roster with street certified new comers like recent Philly signee, Kur. Yet, the man that has made a way for hardcore rappers seems to have opened the doors for North Miami rhymer Tafia. After adding the songwriter to his DC roster last year, Tafia is finally dropping more heat in conjunction with his famed star label boss with Street Clarity: Gangsta Grillz and yes…it’s hosted by none other than the mixtape icon himself, DJ Drama. You know the hardcore bang that a GG tape brings, so a few of Tafia’s boys are featured, like Jackboy, Bobby Fishscale, Mr. Meek himself and the biggest boss Rick Ross. The first single off the project dropping on April 30th, “Flood The Streets,” comes with the video that aims to do it’s name sake.
Now with a changed perspective on life, Tafia uses his life experiences to fuel his music. The once incarcerated music lover admits that his time on lock down honed his skills with the words and music. “I started writing in prison. I kept on writing and writing until I got good at it. I then started rapping against other people in jail with me and I kept getting better and better,” Tafia explains of his new found flow. “When I finally got out, I had access to rap over beats. I had to keep going, practicing until I found my voice, my flow. I perfected my craft after that.” It’s wild to see that in just three short years of working on his craft that he’s already rocking screen and racking up views on Youtube for the Dream Chasers outfit. Not to glance over his recent road incident where his car crashed on a Florida highway earlier this month, just that with everything being ok with him physically and mentally, his new music is his main focus. If you follow his Instagram account, you’ll find that he has a sense of humor, street credibility and an extreme positive outlook on his future.
