The three-day Retail Innovation Conference & Expo starts today in Chicago. Jonah Berger of the Wharton School will deliver a keynote address on what makes a brand “contagious.” Other speakers include executives from retailers such as Crate & Barrel, Foot Locker and Target.
Roblox, the open video game world, will release first-quarter financial results, with an analyst call at 8:30 a.m. ET. Roblox has led the way in introducing brands into virtual reality, and it competes with companies like Meta in the metaverse. Its quarterly report is a chance to see how consumers are still interacting on the platform and what all the latest brand activity has done for its bottom line.
Debbie Weinstein, YouTube’s VP of advertising, joins Ad Age Remotely at 11 a.m. ET to talk about the current ad sales season. YouTube has had a presence at both NewFronts and upfront sales events, and will host its annual Brandcast later this month.

The long-awaited revival of cult Canadian sketch comedy series “The Kids in the Hall” (1989-1995) starts streaming on Amazon Prime Video today. All five members of the comedy troupe—also known as The Kids in the Hall—from the original are on board for the eight-episode reboot. Amazon, it’s worth noting, gets skewered a bit in the very NSFW promo trailer.
