Brad, the Seattle group led by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard and drummer Regan Hagar, will launch their sixth album In The Second That You’re Born this July. The album is the follow-up to 2012’s United We Stand, and options the ultimate recordings of late singer Shawn Smith, who handed away in 2019.
The album will probably be launched by way of Loosegroove Recordings on July 28, and options Gossard, Hagar and Smith alongside bassist Keith Lowe, who joined the lineup in 2008. Brad have additionally launched a video for the title monitor (under) which was directed by Hagar.
“Shawn Smith had an incredible antenna for the elegant and transmitted these currents into his vocals,” Gossard tells Spin (opens in new tab). “He was fearless about improvisation and cherished creation. Shawn thrived when the stakes have been excessive – he was a profoundly adventurous artist.”
In The Second That You’re Born was recorded and combined at Studio Litho in Seattle by by Floyd Reitsma – who additionally labored on United We Stand, and has recorded with the likes of Pearl Jam, Audioslave and Dave Matthews – aside from the title monitor, which was combined by Josh Evans.
The album’s tracks embody a brand new model of Stars N’ You, which written by late Mom Love Bone singer Andrew Wooden and initially recorded by his pre-MLB band Malfunkshun, who additionally featured Regan Hagar.
