SUISUN VALLEY — The Fairfield-Suisun City Visual Arts Association invites the public to the 23rd Annual Art on the Vine from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s event is a fundraiser for the Rodriguez High School Art Program and features more than 35 artists, four bands and a food truck.
The Fairfield-Suisun City Visual Arts Association hosts the Art on the Vine event every year to give local artists an opportunity to show their new artwork to the public.
There will be a variety of types of art created by local and award-winning artists to see and for purchase.
Some of the artists will include Ken Chew, acrylic and oil painting; Janet Barnes, acrylic painting; Pat Calabro, digital art; JT Whittaker, photography; Margo Scarpulla, ceramics; Jim Poff, color pencil and watercolor; Laura Klein, acrylic painting, fiber and mixed media; and Barbara Smithson, watercolor.
Other who will take part include Mary Pilcher, acrylic painting and leather; La Honda, art recycled material; Ebba Navas, oil painting; Kathy Canfield Shepard, quilling; Dennis Ariza, landscape and wildlife photography; Mei-Ling Albert, acrylic painting and mixed media; Jane Loveall, mosaic; and Doug Cooper, woodcarving.
Still other participants include Mary Gail Taylor, pottery; Bahiya Spaulding, watercolor; Maribel Passion, acrylic painting; Mike Miller, acrylic painting; Vicki Dennis, oil painting; Carolyn Mulliner, ceramics and jewelry; Lynn Larsen, acrylic; Christine Alessio, steam punk; Barb Duvall, digital art and acrylic; and Clara Podger, acrylic.
Others scheduled to take part include Jean Purnell, oil painting; Donna Harris, acrylic, Mikol Keith, acrylic; Connie Millholland, watercolor and acrylic; Michiko Haugen, watercolor and fabric; Annette Batchelo, oil painting; Ok Hanraha, photography; Tommie Fergusson-Howard, acrylic and mixed media; Genia Greene, mixed media; Rachael Van Sloten, pottery; and Julia Ecker, pottery.
You can preview some of the artwork in a special display from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the Solano Town Center Gallery, located in the Solano Town Center, 1350 Travis Blvd.
Music will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday with Yuppie Liberation Front. The School of Rock House Band will perform through the afternoon until 5 p.m.
Yuppie Liberation Front will perform again at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by Solid Gold, who will perform until 5 p.m.
Wine tasting, including Suisun Valley labels, will be available. Bocce can be played while listening to the music and enjoying a meal by Mauricio’s Brunch-in-a-Box.
The event is at BackRoad Vines Winery, 2221 Julian Lane.
Covid-19 protocols will be in place. Admission and parking are free.
