The celebrities will be equipped for their performances with wisdom from some world-class theatre performers, as well as training from West End choreographers and vocal coaches.
Each celebrity will be accompanied by an ensemble and a live orchestra to make their performances show-stopping.
Which musicals will feature in this episode?
The musicals featured will range from traditional to contemporary performances.
Viewers can expect to hear songs from Frozen, Les Miserables, 42nd Street and Hamilton.
Elaine Page OBE, Samantha Barks, Trevor Dion Nicholas (Hamilton & Aladdin) and host John Barrowman MBE will open the show with a performance from one of the most popular musicals of all time, Grease.
Viewers can also expect a special 35th West End anniversary performance from the stars of Phantom of the Opera.
Which celebrities are performing?
Six celebrities have signed up to attempt the All Star Musicals challenge.
ITV News and Good Morning Britain’s own Alex Beresford is the first celebrity joining the line-up.
Beresford told ITV “There’s a fine line between panic and excitement, but I can’t wait to challenge myself and feel the thrill of performing a musical number in front of a crowd.”
Joining Beresford on the celebrity line-up is actress Jacqueline Jossa.
Jossa portrayed Lauren Branning in BBC soap opera Eastenders for eight years.
The actress is known for pushing herself out of her comfort zone after she won Jungle Queen on the 2019 season of I’m A Celebrity.
Wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan is also testing her musical prowess.
Strachan presents BBC’s nature watch programmes seasonally on BBC One, including Springwatch and Autumnwatch.
The presenter told ITV how excited she was to be involved in the show, saying “As a wildlife presenter, I don’t often get the chance to swap the walking boots and outdoor gear for something sparkly!”
Coronation Street actress Lisa George will also be performing on All Stars Musical.
The actress has played Beth Tinker on the ITV soap since 1997 and also placed fifth in the 2020 series of Dancing on Ice.
The fifth celebrity joining the line-up is actor Colin Salmon.
Salmon is known for playing Charles Robinson in three of the James Bond movies, including the 1997 Tomorrow Never Dies.
Rugby star Danny Care is the last celebrity to flex his musical muscles.
Care plays for the Harlequins in the premiership and played for England for 10 years between 2008 and 2018.
The rugby player took to Twitter to tease fans about his upcoming performance, saying “Yep…still happening.” alongside a photo of him in his costume.
